This Privacy Policy explains how Odeh & Wisdom Holdings Ltd collects, uses, and protects personal information when you interact with Freedom Writers, our Roblox game creation bootcamp for young people aged 11 to 16.
We take your privacy seriously, and we take the privacy of children in our care especially seriously. This policy tells you exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
By joining the Freedom Writers waitlist, signing up to our parent newsletter, or registering for the programme, you are agreeing to the terms of this policy. If you are a parent or guardian signing up on behalf of a child, this policy applies to both of you.
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can contact us at any time at ceo@odeh-wisdomholdings.com. We will always respond within 5 working days.
Freedom Writers is a programme run by Odeh & Wisdom Holdings Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for all personal information collected through Freedom Writers. This means we are responsible for deciding how and why your data is used, and for keeping it safe.
If you have a concern about how we handle your data that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) directly at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
We collect different information depending on whether you are a student joining the waitlist or a parent signing up to our newsletter.
| Who | Data collected | How |
|---|---|---|
| Students | First name, age group, Roblox username, referral code (optional), referral name (optional) | Mailchimp waitlist signup form |
| Parents | Full name, email address, child's age group | Mailchimp parent newsletter form |
| All visitors | IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site | Netlify (automatic, anonymous analytics) |
| Registered participants | Full name, parent email, payment confirmation, Roblox username | Registration form (opening June 2026) |
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as ethnic origin, health information, or financial account details beyond what is required to process payment at registration. Payment processing is handled by a third-party provider and we do not store card details.
Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal data. The table below sets out why we collect each type of data and the legal basis we rely on.
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Managing the student waitlist and sending registration details | Legitimate interest |
| Delivering the Freedom Writers programme to registered participants | Contract performance |
| Sending the parent newsletter with programme updates | Consent (parents can unsubscribe at any time) |
| Safeguarding children during the programme | Legal obligation |
| Processing referral codes and distributing Robux rewards | Legitimate interest |
| Maintaining financial records of registrations and payments | Legal obligation (Companies Act 2006) |
| Anonymous website analytics via Netlify | Legitimate interest |
For children aged 11 to 13, the legal basis for processing their personal data is parental consent, not the child's own consent. A parent or guardian must complete the registration process on their child's behalf.
Because Freedom Writers is designed for young people aged 11 to 16, we apply additional protections to how we handle children's personal information. This section explains those protections clearly.
Freedom Writers is designed in line with the principles of the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code). We apply the highest privacy settings as the default for all participants aged under 18.
We do not keep personal data for longer than necessary. The table below sets out our retention periods for each type of data.
| Data type | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Waitlist signups who do not register | Deleted within 30 days of registration closing (June 2026) |
| Registered participant data | Held for 12 months after the programme ends, then securely deleted |
| Parent newsletter subscribers | Held until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time. |
| Financial and payment records | 6 years from the date of transaction (legal requirement) |
| Anonymous website analytics | Retained by Netlify in accordance with their privacy policy |
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We only share data with third parties where it is necessary to operate the programme. Below is a full list of the third parties we use and why.
We will never share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any organisation not listed above without your explicit consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add new features to the programme or when legal requirements change. We will always update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
If we make significant changes that affect how we process children's data, we will notify registered parents directly by email before those changes take effect.
