Odeh and Wisdom Holdings Ltd, trading as Freedom Writers, is committed to protecting the welfare of all children and young people who participate in the Freedom Writers Roblox Creator Challenge 2026.
Freedom Writers believes that every child has the right to participate in a safe, positive, and supportive environment. The welfare of the child is our primary concern in all decisions we make as an organisation.
This policy applies to all staff, instructors, volunteers, and contractors involved in the delivery of the programme.
This policy applies to the Freedom Writers Roblox Creator Challenge 2026, a virtual programme running from 21 July to 24 August 2026, open to young people aged 11 to 16.
It covers all digital environments used during the programme, including the Freedom Writers Roblox Group and the Freedom Writers Discord server.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead for Freedom Writers is Kevin Awodarow, Founder and CEO of Odeh and Wisdom Holdings Ltd.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is responsible for receiving and acting on any safeguarding concerns raised during the programme. They can be contacted at ceo@odeh-wisdomholdings.com.
All adults working directly with young people through Freedom Writers are subject to appropriate checks before the programme commences.
No adult will have unsupervised access to young people without the necessary clearance in place prior to the programme start date of 21 July 2026.
Freedom Writers operates across two digital platforms during the programme. The following rules apply to each:
Open to all participants. Communication is limited to programme-related content. The group is moderated by the Freedom Writers team throughout the programme. Roblox's own community standards and safety features apply at all times.
Available to participants aged 13 and over only, with explicit parental consent confirmed at registration. The server is fully moderated. The following rules apply at all times:
Participants aged 11 and 12 are not invited to join the Discord server under any circumstances.
All adults involved in delivering the Freedom Writers programme agree to the following:
If any member of the programme team has a concern about the welfare of a child, they must report it to the Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately. Concerns may include but are not limited to:
The Designated Safeguarding Lead will assess the concern and, if necessary, refer the matter to the relevant statutory authority, including the Local Authority Designated Officer or the police. Freedom Writers will cooperate fully with any statutory investigation.
All safeguarding concerns are recorded in writing and kept securely. Records are kept for a minimum of seven years.
If a child discloses abuse or harm to a member of the programme team, the following steps apply:
Freedom Writers is committed to promoting safe and responsible use of the internet and digital platforms. As part of the programme, participants are encouraged to report anything online that makes them feel uncomfortable to the programme team or to a trusted adult.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with their child about online safety throughout the programme. Useful resources include:
Written parental consent is required for all participants before they join the programme. Consent covers:
Consent is collected digitally at the point of registration and records are retained securely for a minimum of seven years.
No photographs or video recordings of participants will be taken or shared without explicit parental consent.
Where a participant's game is featured on Freedom Writers social media or marketing materials, consent is confirmed at the point of registration. No personal information about any participant will be shared publicly without further written permission from their parent or guardian.
Any complaint relating to safeguarding should be made directly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead at ceo@odeh-wisdomholdings.com.
Complaints will be acknowledged within 48 hours and responded to in full within 14 days.
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as required. It was first issued in June 2026 and is due for review in June 2027.
Any significant changes to the programme structure or delivery method that affect safeguarding will trigger an immediate policy review regardless of the annual schedule.
